In over 16 years at HAC, David has successfully represented over 100 clients at disability hearings and litigated over 75 federal court appeals in the US District Court for the Northern District of California and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In 2021, he co-presented on representing clients with co-occurring mental illness and addiction with HAC’s DEIJ Director, Nyla Moujaes, at the annual conference of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

David is a member of the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, a former president of the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club, and a former board member of the National Lawyers Guild. He has published on race and property law in the Southwestern Law Review, done graduate work in political theory at San Francisco State University, and was selected to be an Administrative Law Judge for the California Department of Social Services in 2022 but ultimately decided to remain at HAC. David enjoys golfing with his brother about once every five years and has three cats: Ruby, Chompy, and Wallace.
